Staff Reporter : The Bangladesh International Education Fair 2026 drew a large crowd of students and parents on the second day of its three-day run at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Friday.
Students and guardians visited the fair to gather reliable information about higher education opportunities abroad. Organisers said around 10,000 visitors attended the event throughout the day and spoke directly with representatives from universities in Bangladesh and overseas. The fair will conclude at 8:00 pm on Saturday.
The event, which opened on Thursday, features 35 stalls representing more than 2,500 universities from over 45 countries. Visitors can obtain information on scholarships, admission procedures, language proficiency tests, visa requirements and career prospects. The fair also hosts European, Malaysian and UK education expos, alongside business-to-business networking sessions.
Almost every stall at Gulnaksha Hall remained busy throughout Friday, with particularly strong interest in universities from the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Many students also sought details about admission requirements, scholarships and study costs at institutions across Europe and Malaysia.
Representatives from several banks attended the fair to advise prospective students on education financing. They explained loan facilities and financial support available for overseas study.
Mehedi Hasan, a student of Government Titumir College, said the biggest challenge for students planning to study abroad is finding trustworthy information.
“Here I had the opportunity to speak directly with representatives from universities in different countries. I received practical information about scholarships, tuition fees, admission procedures and career prospects after graduation,” he said.
Tasnia Rahman, a student at North South University, said the fair helped clear up many uncertainties about studying abroad.
“I had gathered information from different people before, but I still had doubts. Speaking directly with university representatives has given me a clearer understanding and made my decision much easier,” she said.
Mehedi Islam, an official of NCC Bank, said the bank offers education loans on easy terms for students pursuing higher education overseas.
“Depending on the destination country and university, we provide education loans of up to $20,000 with minimal guarantor requirements,” he said.
Mahmud Galib, chief executive officer of Fair Convener International, said Bangladeshi students now aspire to study at leading universities around the world.
“The overwhelming response on the second day reflects the growing interest among Bangladeshi students in overseas higher education. We want every talented student to receive accurate guidance and secure a place at the world’s top universities,” he said.
Ashikur Rahman Tanvir, director of events and sales at the organisation, said Saturday offers the final opportunity for visitors to receive expert advice on university selection, scholarships, visas and future career planning in one place.
