Staff Reporter : Kazi Reha Kabir Sigma, an independent candidate for Kishoreganj-4 (Ashtagram, Itna and Mithamoin) constituency, social activist, researcher and entrepreneur, said, “Whether I become an MP or not, my goal is to work for the people of Haor.”

He said, “The biggest problem here is the lack of healthcare. So if necessary, I will build a hospital on my own land. My promise is to alleviate the suffering of the people.” Kazi Reha Kabir Sigma said this in response to questions from journalists during a mass outreach in various villages of Sadar Union and Deoghar Union of Ashtagram Upazila on Tuesday, December 9.
In addition to exchanging greetings and shaking hands, he exchanged views with the local people and inquired about the needs and complaints of the common people.

Kazi Reha Kabir Sigma also said, “The Haor area is remote. I have talked to many people here. I have come to know that there is a lack of proper medical care here. Pregnant mothers are facing problems. They have to travel far for treatment, which is very difficult for them. Healthcare is not a mercy, it is a civil right of everyone, a fundamental right of the people.”

Expressing his commitment to the people, he said, “Even if I am not an MP or a member of parliament, I will continue to work with the people. I have a place. If I get your cooperation, I want to use that place to build a hospital. My haor residents have to struggle, cross the river and go so far to get treatment. If we cannot help even a little, it will be sad and shameful for us. We will only come to ask for votes during elections and will not do anything for them – this attitude will not work. We have to always be by their side.”
He said, “For this purpose, I have planned a hospital. Whether it is a personal initiative or a joint initiative, I intend to establish a hospital in this area. Insha Allah, if Allah helps me, I will donate some of my land if necessary. This is what my ancestors did.”
