
Staff Reporter : Managing Director & CEO of Robi Axiata PLC, Mr. Ziad Satara, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Mohd Shuhada Othman, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, at the Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka.

The meeting highlighted the strong and enduring bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia, and Robi’s role as a bridge between the two friendly nations. Axiata Group Berhad, Robi’s parent company, is a Malaysian Government-Linked Company (GLC), with Khazanah Nasional Berhad as its major shareholder. Robi remains the largest Malaysian investment in Bangladesh and a committed development partner, contributing to connectivity, employment, fiscal revenues, and the digital economy.
Malaysia continues to be a vital development partner for Bangladesh, particularly in labour migration, investment, trade, education, and remittances. Accounting for over 37% of Malaysia’s expatriate workforce, Bangladeshi workers contribute more than USD 3 billion in remittances annually.

Mr. Satara thanked His Excellency for the continued support and facilitation extended to Robi Axiata PLC. His Excellency reaffirmed the High Commission’s ongoing support for Robi, reinforcing Malaysia’s commitment to a long-term partnership with Bangladesh.
