Staff Reporter  :  The 61st Asia Pacific Advanced Network Conference (APAN61) has started in Dhaka. Scheduled to be held till January 30, 2026, this prestigious research and education (R&E) networking event is jointly organized by the Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) and Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BDREN) and Higher Education Acceleration & Transformation (HEAT) Project of University Grants Commission (UGC).

The conference will gather education and ICT leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region to explore the latest in advanced network technologies and digital transformation in education.

This information was shared through a press release sent to the media by Huawei Bangladesh on Tuesday.

APAN61 is expected to attract 300–500 participants, including international delegates from national research and education networks (NRENs), universities, vocational institutions, and ICT communities. The five-day conference will serve as a leading platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation in education and technology.

Huawei will host an Intelligent Education Seminar titled “Huawei APAC Intelligent Education Roundtable 2026” with a theme to accelerate education intelligent.

The seminar will feature discussions on accelerating digital transformation in higher education and addressing systemic challenges in teaching, administration, and infrastructure. Key focus areas will include the transition from campus networks to AI-ready research infrastructure, and the transformative potential of AI across university teaching, research, and operations.
Huawei will also showcase Smart Campus and Smart Classroom solutions at its exhibition booth,

presenting real-world applications that support the growth of smart education in Bangladesh. Case study of BRAC University, equipped with Huawei networking solutions, smart classroom technologies, and successful implementations will be also highlighted. Through its participation in APAN61,

Huawei reaffirms its commitment to advancing the digital and intelligent transformation of Bangladesh’s education system. By working closely with academia, research institutions, and industry partners, the company aims to help build a more connected, inclusive, and future-ready education ecosystem.
